01/01   Alexander J. Campbell, age 18 of Westfield, NJ was arrested on a Disorderly Person’s Offense by Off. Ostrowski after responding to a suspicious persons call on Arrowwood Drive. Off. Ostrowski transported Campbell to headquarters and processed.

01/01   Jacquelin E. Shortlidge, age 32 of Old Bridge, NJ was arrested for Trespassing and Resisting Arrest during a disturbance call on Park View Drive by Off. Ostrowski. Off. Ostrowski transported Shortlidge to headquarters for processing and then later transported to the Union County Jail.

01/02   A resident on Aberdeen Road reported a Fraud. Someone accessed the victim’s credit card information and made unauthorized charges.

01/02   James A. Brice, age 55 of Roberta, GA. was arrested on an Outstanding Warrant out of Irvington, NJ by Off. DiLollo. Off. DiLollo transported Brice to headquarters for processing.

01/03   The management at the Quick Chek, located at 1928 Westfield Avenue, reported a Shoplifting. Store employees confronted a Hispanic male who then fled the area. Officers checked for the suspect in the area but were unable to locate the suspect. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/03   A resident in the 1800 block of Raritan Road reported a Fraud. Someone accessed the victim’s credit card account and made unauthorized charges.

01/04   A resident on Canterbury Drive reported a Fraud. Someone made unauthorized charges on one of the victim’s credit card accounts.

01/06   A Burglary was reported at a business located on Park Avenue. A front window was broken, and items were removed from the business. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/06   A resident on Burnham Court reported a Fraud. Someone made unauthorized credit card charges to the victim’s account.

01/08   Antoine L. Friday, age 33 of South Plainfield, NJ was arrested on Outstanding Warrants out of Hillside and Newark, NJ by Off. Everitt during a motor vehicle stop. Friday was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posting bail.

01/08   Tyrus B. Rucker, age 28 of Plainfield, NJ was arrested on an Outstanding Warrant out of New Brunswick, NJ during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Off. Ostrowski. Rucker was transported to headquarters and processed.

01/09   A resident on Warren Street reported a Fraud. Someone attempted to open a credit card in the victim’s name. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/09   Rizksaids Reyad, age 36 of North Plainfield, NJ was arrested for Harassment during an investigation at the Shell Gas Station located at 2246 North Avenue in Scotch Plains by Off. Serafin. Reyad was transported to headquarters and processed.

01/09   Gabriela Reyna-Romero, age 28 of Rahway, NJ was arrested on Outstanding Warrants out of Piscataway, NJ during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Off. Gitto. Reyna-Romero was transported to headquarters and processed.

01/11   A resident on Mountain Avenue reported a Fraud. Someone attempted to use the victim’s credit card information online. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/11   A resident on Myrtle Avenue reported a Fraud. Someone attempted to use the victim’s credit card information online. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/11   A resident of Forked River reported the Theft of a purse from a vehicle parked in the lot of the YMCA located at 1340 Martine Avenue in Scotch Plains. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/11   A resident on Fawnridge Drive reported a Burglary. A rear door to the home was forced open. The incident occurred during the daytime hours.

01/12   Stephen Green, age 23 of Bronx, NY was arrested for Possession of Marijuana during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Off. VonLangen. Green was transported to headquarters and processed.

01/13   Corey K. Lee, age 43 of Fanwood, NJ was arrested for Driving Under the Influence during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Off. Baltazar. Lee was transported to headquarters and processed.

01/14   A resident on Gaycroft Drive reported a Fraud. Someone opened a credit card in the victim’s name, and the incident is currently under investigation.

01/14   Cristobal Avila, age 28 of Plainfield, NJ was arrested on an Outstanding Warrant out of Scotch Plains by Off. Hernandez. Avila was transported to headquarters and processed.

01/14   A resident on O’Donnell Avenue reported a Fraud. Someone opened several credit cards in the victim’s name.

01/22   A resident in the 300 block of Willow Avenue reported a motor vehicle Burglary. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle at approximately 4:00 a.m. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/22   Sean G. Dallas, age. 48 of Wall, N.J. was arrested on Outstanding Warrants out of Raritan and Woodbridge, NJ during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Off. Mirabile. Off. Mirabile then transported Dallas to headquarters for processing.

01/22   A resident on Jersey Avenue reported a Fraud. The victim was contacted by unknown individuals and agreed to deposit a check in their bank account. The victim was then to purchase gift cards and provide router numbers to the individuals in return for money. After the victim completed the transaction, they were informed that the check was fraudulent.

01/23   A resident on Donato Circle reported a Fraud. The victim stated a fraudulent check was deposited in their bank account and the money withdrawn from the account. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/24   Officers responded to an activated burglary alarm at the AT&T store located Route 22 at approximately 5 a.m., and the offices found the front door smashed. The owner responded and stated numerous items were removed from the store. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/24   A resident on Myrtle Avenue reported the Theft of their front license plate. The plate has been entered stolen, and the incident is currently under investigation.

01/25   A resident on Ashbrook Drive reported a vehicle Burglary. The victim saw a white male inside his vehicle at approximately 5 a.m., and the suspect fled the area in a vehicle. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the vehicle. The incident is currently under investigation.

01/25   A resident on Park View Drive reported a Fraud. The victim stated someone opened a bank account in the victim’s name, and the incident is currently under investigation.

01/25   A resident on Rambling Drive reported a Fraud. Someone deposited a fraudulent check into the victim’s bank account, and the incident is currently under investigation.

01/26   A resident on Rivervale Court reported a Fraud. The victim stated someone attempted to open several credit cards in their name, and the incident is currently under investigation.

01/26   Andrienna S. Williams, age 41 of Berkeley Heights, N.J. was arrested for Providing False Information to Police during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Off. Serafin. Williams also had active warrants out of Newark and Irvington NJ. Off. Serafin then transported Williams to headquarters for processing.

01/26   Amanda M. Rivera, age 28 of North Plainfield, N.J. was arrested for Assault during a Disorderly Persons investigation conducted by Off. Rivera at the Stage House Tavern located Park Avenue. Off. Rivera then transported Amanda Rivera to headquarters for processing.

01/28   Tiziana Ruiz, age 27 of Piscataway, N.J. was arrested on an Outstanding Warrant out of Elizabeth, NJ during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Off. Luciano. Off. Luciano then transported Ruiz to headquarters for processing.

01/30   A resident in the 200 block of Victor Street reported the Theft of a license plate from their vehicle. The plate was entered stolen.

01/31   Officers responded to a home on Princeton Avenue on a report of a garage that was on Fire. Upon arrival, they encountered a cloud of heavy smoke coming from the structure. All occupants were removed from the home, and the Scotch Plains Fire Department responded. The Scotch Plains Fire Department extinguished the fire after bringing it under control, and no injuries were reported.
