Officers Arthur Bruschetti and Jason Everitt of the Scotch Plains Police Department were awarded the Life Saving Medal for the actions they took on Sept. 22, 2015, in an effort to revive a 75-year-old male who was unresponsive. Officer Everitt was dispatched to the 1900 block of Mary Ellen Lane on the call of an unresponsive male. Upon his arrival he found the man in question who was not breathing. Officer Bruschetti responded as back up. The two officers began CPR and after several minutes, the defibrillator advised that a shock be delivered. The patient came back to life. "These officers are to be commended for their outstanding efforts in saving a life that day," said Captain Ted Conley, spokesperson for Scotch Plains PD.
